5 Reasons that Blood Tests are Done

Why do you need blood tests?

Blood can be studied and the contents of your blood can tell a lot about your body’s state. You do not have to be sick to get a blood test. However, if you want, you can get your blood tested once every six months to see.

As for why blood tests are done, here are five primary reasons:

1.       Diabetics and other diseases: Diabetes is one of the most known diseases, and it is spreading at a rapid pace. If a person has diabetes, the blood sugar levels would be off the charts. Furthermore, a blood test can help you gauge the severity of your disease. Additionally, blood tests can help you to learn about other related metabolic syndromes as well.

2.       Hormonal Imbalance: Another thing that blood tests help you figure out is how your hormones affect the body. If you feel that you are losing weight despite following a strict diet, or there are other signs that your body is showing for no apparent reason, then it may be a sign of hormonal imbalance. Getting a blood test to check it out would be a great way to deal with the issues, and will help you understand what is going on as well.

3.       Protection against Terminal Illnesses: Most of us treat flu as nothing special. However, sometimes flu can be a sign of something dangerous and terminal. HIV starts off as nothing but flu, and same is the case with many other terminal illnesses. The levels of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets along with other things in the blood content will help you understand if there is something to worry about or not.

4.       Issues with Liver and Kidneys: Your liver and kidneys often offer the most important information for your body. Regular blood tests can help you to figure out what’s up with your body. Additionally, the tests done can point out towards probable situations which may be determined by more tests.

5.       Vitamins and Minerals: Your body is made of many things. However, our usual lifestyle and diet may not be letting us maintain our body perfectly. With blood tests, you can gauge the number of minerals and vitamins you have in your body, which will, later on, help you to figure out how things work for you and what you should change in your diet to accomplish the correct levels. Furthermore, it will also help you to understand if your body has some minerals or vitamins in excess, which can also be very dangerous.

Are regular blood tests necessary?

As mentioned earlier, it is not important for you to be sick to get a blood test. With regular blood tests, you will have a better understanding of your body and will be able to find a better way to keep it fit.

If you wish to get a blood test done you should look for a path lab in Lajpat Nagar or near your house. Consider getting a blood test in every few months to check up on your body. If you find something alarming, visit a doctor.
